How to Import a Global Assembly into a Proposal

Learn how to add items and assemblies from Bolster's global library, including the Bolster Legacy Catalog, directly into your proposal.

Overview
Bolster's global library gives you access to the Bolster Legacy Catalog, which contains over 100,000 items and over 600 assemblies you can add directly into your estimate. This saves you time by letting you reuse pre-built items and assemblies instead of creating them from scratch.

Before You Begin

  • Open the proposal you want to add a global item or assembly to.

  • If you do not have access to the Bolster Legacy Catalog, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) at Bolster for assistance.

1. In your estimate, click the dropdown on the Plus Item button.

2. Select Browse Library.

3. Select the Bolster Legacy Library.

4. Search the catalog for the item or assembly you want, or use the dropdown to search and filter for items or assemblies.

5. Click the item or assembly you want so that it shows a blue check mark.

6. Click Add to Estimate to bring the item or assembly into your proposal.

Once added, you can open the assembly by clicking the blue plus button to view its sub-assemblies and items, and edit them as needed.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use Search and Filters: With over 100,000 items and 600 assemblies in the catalog, use the search and filter dropdown to narrow down results quickly.
  • Confirm Your Selection: Make sure the blue check mark is showing before clicking Add to Estimate to ensure you're importing the correct item or assembly.

Why This Matters

  • Lets you quickly add pre-built items and assemblies from Bolster's global library instead of building them manually, saving time when estimating.

Summary

Adding a global item or assembly to your proposal involves browsing the Bolster Legacy Library from the Plus Item button, selecting the item or assembly you want, and adding it to your estimate.
