How to Duplicate an Item or Assembly

Overview
If you have multiple line items that share the same details, you don't need to build each one out from scratch. You can duplicate an existing item or assembly and rename it if necessary, which duplicates the name, pricing, and anything built into the back end of that line item.

Before You Begin

• Log in to Bolster and open the project that contains the item or assembly you want to duplicate.
  
  
• Locate the item or assembly in the estimate table, using the search bar or browsing the project structure if needed.
  
  

1. Hover over the line item you'd like to duplicate.

2. Move your cursor over to the 6-dots action menu and click it.

3. In the drop-down menu, select Duplicate.

This duplicates the line item, including its name, pricing, and anything built into the back end of that item. This works for single items or full assemblies.

Tips & Best Practices

• Rename as Needed: After duplicating, rename the new line item if it needs to be distinguished from the original.
• Troubleshooting: If duplication fails, confirm you have the right permissions in both the source and destination, and review any system notifications for dependency or configuration issues.
