How to Create an Assembly or Template from Scratch
This guide will walk you through the steps to create an assembly or template from scratch, ensuring your quotes are structured and easy to manage.
1. Start a New Proposal: Select “+ Create New” to create a new proposal.
2. Select a Client: You can either create a new estimate for an existing client in your database or set up a brand-new client profile.

3. In this example, we’ll proceed by selecting an existing client

4. Name Your Estimate: After selecting or creating a client, enter a name for your estimate.

5. Select “Start from scratch” and Start Building: Click Start Building. From here, you’ll have the option to begin with a blank estimate by selecting Start from Scratch.

6. Add Line Items to Assembly: Now you can add line items to the assembly. This helps group related items together in a template which you can save.

7. Sub-Assemblies:
-
To further organize your proposal you can create sub-assemblies.
-
Click the + to add a new line below an existing assembly.
-
Convert this new line into a sub-assembly and add more line items.

8. Once you’re finished working on your assembly be sure to “save estimate changes” to save your progress before closing your work.

9. Benefits of Assemblies:
Assemblies in Bolster allow you to group related items together in your proposals. This allows you to collapse sections as needed to make complex proposals easier to navigate. By following these steps you can create and manage assemblies in Bolster and have proposals that are complete and easy to understand.
