How to Create a New Estimate

Creating a new estimate in Bolster is a straightforward process that can be completed in a few simple steps. Follow the instructions below to efficiently generate an estimate for your client.

Navigate to your pipeline on the left hand side of the screen (through favorites or essentials, they both go to the same place)

You can create a new estimate 2 ways, by clicking "Create New" in the top-right corner, then selecting "Estimate" OR you can also create a new estimate by selecting "Create New Estimate" form the three-dot icon menu in the Estimates column. (They will both bring you to the same place)

When creating a new estimate, you can either choose to create an estimate for an existing client, or for a new client.

If you would like to choose an existing client, open the 'chose a client' drop down menu for a list of your clients, select the client you want and then name your estimate.

Hit "Start Building"

If this is for a new client, select "New Client" and add their 10 digit phone number or email.

Once the phone number is completed this will prompt you to further complete their profile by adding their name and email/phone number. Once completed you will now name your estimate and click "Start Building.

Nice, now you're in the heart of your estimate, laying the groundwork for great projects. There are a few options from here: you can start building off a pre-existing template in your library, start from scratch, or watch the tutorial.

Pro-Tip: Before you start hammering away at your first estimate, take a quick run through our tutorial, it's the blueprint for success. And don't worry, if you hit a bump in the road, your CSM is only an email away & we have a bunch of other resources in our academy to help you out. Happy Estimating!

You will be taken to the estimate builder where you have three options:

  • Quick Start Tutorial: Follow this for a step by step guide.

  • Start from Scratch: Build your estimate from the ground up.

  • Pre-Built Assemblies: Choose from a range of pre-built assemblies in our global library to speed things up.
