How To Change Unit Of Measure For An Item
This process allows you to customize how items are quantified and priced, ensuring accuracy in your project estimates.
Change Unit of Measure
1. Go to Estimate:
-
Open the estimate with the item you want to change. For example, a bathroom assembly with demolition and flooring items.
2. Find Unit of Measure:
-
Go to the section where the units of measure are shown. This is usually next to the Dimension and Qty
3. Change Unit of Measure:
-
Click on the current unit of measure (e.g. "each" for demolition).
-
A dropdown will appear and you can select a new unit of measure such as square feet, linear feet, cubic feet or hours.
4. Examples:
-
For demolition, change from "each" to "hour" if you want to measure by time.
-
For flooring, change from "square feet" to "each" if you want to measure differently.
5. Advanced Item Options:
-
Or go to advanced item options by clicking on the item box.
-
Here you can change the quantity under the unit pricing section.
-
Selecting a unit like "hour" will give you the same options.
-
Make sure it’s what you want.
-
Save the estimate.
Changing units of measure for items in an estimate is easy and powerful. Follow these steps to do it.
