Once you have your account set up to process payments from your clients, you will have the option to integrate your CostCertified account directly with QuickBooks Online to automatically track your invoices. NOTE: Integration is currently only available to contractors that have invoice payments enabled, and it is not supported by the QuickBooks Desktop app.
Connecting Your QuickBooks Account
-
After you have setup your invoice payments, click on the menu button and go to “Accounting export settings” at the bottom right of the page.
-
NOTE: If the “Accounting export settings” does not appear in your menu, please contact us through live chat or submit a Technical Support ticket by clicking on the lifeline icon in the top right corner of the screen.
-
-
This will take you to the page to link your QuickBooks Online account.
-
Once you click on the button to link your account, you will be prompted to enter your QuickBooks credentials and the accounts will automatically be linked.
Syncing Invoices
-
One you have your QuickBooks account connected, the invoices that you generate and send through CostCertified will automatically be entered into QuickBooks.
-
NOTE: The invoices will only sync once they have been sent to your client through CostCertified. They will not export if you only generate the invoice and choose not to send it.
-
-
Once you generate the invoice CostCertified will assign a unique invoice number and export it to QuickBooks with the client information.
- The invoice will automatically display in your QuickBooks invoice list with the client name and invoice amount.
-
If you open the invoice in QuickBooks, you will see the CostCertified invoice number in the “Product/Service” box.
-
Once the client pays the invoice through CostCertified, the status will automatically be updated in both systems to “paid.”
-
NOTE: If you send, modify, or update the invoice in QuickBooks, those changes will not be reflected in CostCertified. The system is intended to be used for processing the invoices in CostCertified and tracking them in QuickBooks for accounting purposes.
