Enabling/disabling client changes
Upgrades and variation/selection items are the best part of CostCertified, but after a project is booked contractors will usually need to lock in those selections, and any changes afterwards could go undetected and be costly in the end. For that reason, contractors are able to enable/disable changes from the client at any time.
By default client changes is always turned on.
This will turn on/off the clients ability to:
-
Choose a variation of a selection item (selections will be locked)
-
Choose an upgrade/addon item
-
Remove optional items
To toggle client changes
-
Open the quote/proposal you wish to disable changes on
-
Go to the presentation tab
-
At the top, turn on or off ‘Allow client to make upgrades/modifications’
What the client sees
Even when the ability to make changes is turned off, the client will see all potential upgrades and options. It is only when they go to make a change that they will get a warning:
