Creating an optional item that does not affect the quote price until chosen by the client
So you know can add optional items to the quote that form part of the total price of the quote, with an option for the client to remove… but did you know there is a way to add an optional item that is not part of the quote to begin with?
-
Open a quote
-
Add a blank assembly to the quote (you can also do this with a blank item, setting quantity to 1 (important) and price to 0)
- Change the name to something like “In floor heat not included” to demonstrate to the customer that it isn’t included in their quote unless they take some action. Leave it empty.
- On your new assembly from the actions dropdown, choose “Edit pics, notes, upgrades and more”
- Near the bottom add the item or assembly you want to add as an optional add-on. In this case it is an assembly called “In floor heating”
- Now save your blank assembly, and now to add it on the next quote you can find “In floor heat not included” or you can add it to a larger assembly.
