Using Bolton: AI-Powered Search

Open Bolton from the top right corner to ask how to do things in Bolster or give it a task to complete for you.

Overview
Bolton is the AI assistant built into Bolster. You can ask Bolton where to find something or how to do something, and it answers with step-by-step instructions, like a built-in version of the Academy. You can also give Bolton a task, such as creating a new client, and it starts it for you.

Open Bolton

1. In the top right corner, click the Bolton icon. The Bolton panel opens on the right side of the screen, showing your previous questions and answers.

2. Click in the Search or ask AI... box at the bottom of the panel.

 

Ask Bolton Where to Find Something

1. In the Search or ask AI... box, type your question (for example, where do I add company terms and conditions).

2. Press Enter. Bolton searches the docs and replies with where the setting is and how to use it.

3. Follow the steps in the reply. For example, for company terms and conditions, in the left-hand menu, click Settings, then click Estimating settings.

4. Scroll down to find the section Bolton named (for example, Company-wide terms & conditions).

 

Give Bolton a Task

1. In the Search or ask AI... box, type the task (for example, create a new client).

2. Press Enter. Bolton opens the window for the task (for example, Create a new customer).

3. Enter a mobile phone number or email. You need either an email or a phone number.

4. Click Next.

5. Enter the first name and Last name. You can also add an Email.

6. Click Save customer.

The new client is created and appears under Customers > Leads and customers.

 

Tips & Best Practices

  • Ask Instead of Searching: Use Bolton like the Academy. Ask where something is or how to do it, and follow the steps it gives you.
  • Let Bolton Do the Task: Bolton can create things for you, not only show you where they are.
