Introduction to ratings

Ratings let your customers leave feedback on your company after a job. Bolster collects these ratings after a job is complete with a customer, then displays them on your public profile, so new leads can trust you faster.

 

What Ratings are

Ratings are:

  • A 1–5 star score left by your customer after completing a job in Bolster

  • Displayed on your company profile (your Bolster Showcase)

They act as proof you deliver.

Why Ratings matter

Use ratings to:

  • Build trust with new leads before the first call

  • Reduce “can you send references?” requests

  • Support higher-priced bids with visible proof

Ask yourself:

  • If a homeowner compares you to two other contractors, what helps you stand out in 10 seconds?

How customers leave a rating

Your customer can rate you after the job is completed in Bolster.

A typical flow:

  • You complete the job in Bolster

  • Your customer finishes the experience (often around project wrap-up and final payment)

  • Bolster prompts them to leave a 1–5 star rating

Where ratings show up

Ratings appear on your Bolster Showcase, in the Company rating tab.

That tab shows:

  • Your average star rating

  • Total number of reviews

  • A breakdown of ratings (5-star through 1-star)

How to view your ratings

  • Open the main sidebar

  • Go to Marketing

  • Open Showcase

  • Click Company rating

If you have no reviews yet, you’ll see a “0 reviews” state until customers submit ratings.

How to get more ratings

Ratings are easiest to collect right after a win.

Try this simple process:

  • At project completion, tell the client what happens next

    • “You’ll get a quick prompt in Bolster to rate your experience.”

  • Ask for the rating the same day the job wraps

  • Keep it short

    • “It helps us a lot. It takes 10 seconds.”

Good timing moments:

  • Right after final walkthrough

  • Right after the final task is marked complete

  • Right after the final payment clears

How Ratings help your Showcase

Your Showcase is a public, 3-tab website.

The ratings tab acts like your proof page:

  • People who land on your Showcase can see your score and distribution

  • You can share your Showcase link and QR code anywhere you market
