How to Save Line Items to Your Catalogue
Learn how to save line items to your Bolster catalogue quickly, or organize them into categories using the Production panel for easier searching later.
Overview
You can save line items from your estimate directly into your catalogue for future use. There are two ways to do this: a quick method that adds the item without organizing it, and an organized method that lets you file the item into a specific catalogue category as you go.
Before You Begin
- Have the line item you want to save already added to your estimate.
Option 1: Quick Save to Catalogue
1. On the line item, click the six-dot button (six buttons) and select Add to Catalogue.
2. Alternatively, click the square beside the line item and select Add to Catalogue.
This saves the line item directly into your catalogue, but it will not be organized into a category.
Option 2: Save to Catalogue with a Category
1. Click the cube icon on the line item to open Production.
2. Near the bottom of the panel, click the drop-down menu that asks where you want this item saved in your catalogue.
3. Choose the category you want this item saved under (for example, Baseboard), or create a new catalogue category.
4. Click Add to Catalogue.
Tips & Best Practices
- Organize as You Go: Saving items into specific categories makes your catalogue much easier to search later.
Why This Matters
-
Saving line items to your catalogue lets you reuse them in future estimates without rebuilding them from scratch.
-
Organizing items into categories as you save them keeps your catalogue easy to search and maintain over time.
