How to Safely Delete an Item

A quick guide on using Safe Delete to check item usage and safely remove items from the catalog.

When removing items from a catalog, it’s important to make sure they aren’t being used elsewhere. The Safe Delete feature helps you check whether an item is referenced in other assemblies before you delete it. This ensures that you don’t accidentally break dependencies or remove something still in use. Follow the steps below to safely check and delete items with confidence.

Navigate to Item + assembly catalog from the left-hand menu.

You'll notice the safe delete button at the top.

From the list, select the item you want to delete by clicking the check box.

Once the item is selected, click the Safe Delete button in the top menu.

If the system shows “No usages found! Safe to delete…”, click Yes, go ahead to confirm.

If you need to delete multiple items, click the next item in the catalog list.

With the new item selected, click Safe Delete once more.

If the system detects that the item is used in other assemblies, a warning will appear. Read the message carefully. If you still want to proceed, click Delete anyway.
