How To Change Quantity (Qty) or Unit Of Measure (UoM) for an Item

Overview
This process allows you to change the quantity or unit of measure for a line item, customizing how items are quantified and priced to ensure accuracy in your project estimates. For example, you can change a line item like Baseboard from being estimated per each unit to being estimated per linear foot.

Before You Begin

• Open the estimate that contains the item you want to change.
  
  

1. Find the line item you want to change. The current unit of measure is shown next to the Dimension and Qty fields (for example, each).

2. Click on the current unit of measure (e.g. each).

3. A dropdown will appear. Select a new unit of measure, such as square feet, linear feet, cubic feet, or hours.

4. Once selected, the line item updates to show the new unit of measure (e.g. from each to linear feet).

You can repeat these steps for any line item on your estimate.

Advanced Item Options

1. Click on the item box to open advanced item options.

2. In the unit pricing section, change the quantity as needed.

3. Select a unit, such as hour, to apply the same unit of measure options available from the line item view.

4. Confirm the quantity and unit of measure are set correctly.

5. Save the estimate.

Examples

• For demolition, change from each to hour if you want to measure by time.
• For flooring, change from square feet to each if you want to measure differently.
• For baseboard, change from each to linear feet if you want to measure by length.
