Overview
Bolster can automatically include the CSLB (Contractors State License Board) contract pages on estimates you send to clients in California. When enabled, the signed PDF your client downloads includes the contract total, all line items, the signature, and the two required Notice of Cancellation pages. This article shows you how to turn the setting on.
Before you start
You'll need an estimate that is ready to send. The CSLB setting is turned on per estimate, from the Proposal tab, before you send it to the client.
How to enable CSLB contract pages
- Open the estimate you want to send.
- Go to the Proposal tab.
- At the bottom of the screen, click the gear icon (Presentation settings).
- Scroll down to Estimate visibility settings.
- At the bottom of that list, turn on the Include CSLB contract pages toggle.
- Send the estimate to your client as usual.
What your client receives
Once the client signs, they can download the PDF order contract directly from their view. The PDF is laid out as follows:
- Page 1 — the total price of the contract.
- Following pages — all line items.
- After the line items — the signature.
- After the signature — two Notice of Cancellation pages (required under CSLB).
Downloading the contract on your end
The same signed PDF is available to you as well. You can download the order contract from your account, just as your client can from theirs.
