How do I generate reports in Bolster?

To generate reports in Bolster, use the Reports (Estimates) reporting view, then rely on key columns like quote number, estimate status, lead received date, sent date/last activity, conversion date, and team attribution (sales, designer, estimator) to analyze pipeline performance.

You generate reports in Bolster by using the Reports / Estimates reporting view, which is built as a spreadsheet-style table (reports were updated to use the Sheets component) . From there, you review key quote and estimate fields in columns so you can track activity, status, and performance across your pipeline.

What you need before you start

  • Quotes and estimates in the system (reports are based on quote and estimate data like quote number, status, sent date, and more)

Generate a report using the Estimates reporting view

  1. Open Reports (the Estimates reporting view). Reports use the Sheets component, so you’ll see your report data in a grid/table format.

  2. Use the reporting columns to build the view you need. Common columns include:

    • Quote Number

    • Quote Name

    • Status of estimate

  3. Add timeline columns to report on speed and progress through your pipeline :

    • Date lead received

    • When was estimate received

    • Date it was sent / Last Activity

    • Accepted Date / Sent Date / Invoice Date

    • Conversion date (from estimate approval to booked project)

  4. Use status values to segment your report (for example, to see what is waiting, what is sent, and what has converted) :

    • Pending

    • Sent

    • Booked

    • In Progress

    • Waiting Manager Approval

  5. Add team attribution columns if you need reports by role or owner :

    • Sales name (shown in a column)

    • Designer Name / Estimator Name

What your report can answer

Using the columns above, your report can show:

  • What’s in each estimate status (pending vs. sent vs. booked, etc.)

  • When leads came in, when estimates were created/received, and when they were sent

  • How long it takes to move from estimate approval to a booked project using the conversion date

  • Performance breakdowns by salesperson, designer, or estimator (based on column attribution)
