Financial features overview
Bolster’s financial tools help you collect payments, manage cash flow, and keep your books clean. You’ll onboard once through verification, then use dashboards to track balances, payments, payouts, and invoices.
What you’ll find in Financial features
In the left sidebar under Financial features, you’ll see:

Business account
Your Bolster wallet/bank account balance and account activity. -
Payments
All payments you’ve received (separate from payouts and transfers). -
Card
Your virtual debit card tied to your Bolster business account. -
Invoices
Create and manage invoices (itemized or percentage-based). -
Profile
Your merchant profile, verification status, owners, and linked bank accounts. -
Settings
Fees, settlement speed, payment terms, and what clients see.
Getting started: merchant verification (KYC/KYB)
Before you can receive payments, Bolster guides you through verification.
You’ll click Get started and complete a streamlined onboarding flow.
Step 1: Business type and company details
You’ll enter:

Business type
Organization or sole proprietor -
Legal business name

EIN number (if applicable)

Website
-
Company details
Bolster will auto-fill details when it can.
Step 2: Key individuals and ownership
You’ll add key individuals and answer:

Are you an owner or controlling person?
-
Your title
-
Your percent ownership
-
Your address
Step 3: Identity verification (KYC)
For the business account, you’ll verify identity by:

Taking a photo of your license or passport
Front and back -
Taking a selfie
Then you review details and finish.
Step 4: Terms and conditions
You’ll agree to:

Payment terms and conditions
-
Bolster terms and conditions
-
Any required addendums
Once approved, your merchant becomes active and your Bolster business account is set up.
Financial overview dashboard
After onboarding, the financial overview gives you a top-level view of:

Previous payments and payouts
-
Transfers
-
Current balance
-
Latest payment
-
Payment volume over time (example: last 6 months)
Use this page when you want a quick snapshot.
Business account (your Bolster wallet)
The Business account shows your wallet balance and all account activity.
What you’ll see:

Current balance at the top

Account activity list:

Payments
-
Transfers
-
Status of each activity
-
Open any transaction to view details, including:

More transaction info

The invoice and quote the payment relates to
Auto-reconciliation with QuickBooks
Bolster supports auto-reconciling.
When a transaction syncs to QuickBooks, you’ll see that status on the transaction.
Actions you can take
From the Business account page, you can:

Top up account
Add money from an external bank account you’ve linked. -
Send funds
Send funds to an external account (even if it’s not added already). -
Transfer funds
Move money from your Bolster wallet to your external bank account. -
View monthly statements
Payments dashboard
Payments shows only received payments.
It does not include:

Bolster gives you controls over how fees and settlement work.
Cover fees or pass fees on
You can choose to:

Pass the credit card fee onto the payer

Faster settlement
Same-day settlement
Pick the option that matches your cash-flow needs.

Virtual debit card
In Card, you can enable a virtual debit card.
How it works:

Click the enable button

Bolster creates a virtual debit card under your merchant profile

You can view full card details
-
Card activity will appear underneath as transactions occur
Use this when you want to spend directly from your Bolster business account.
Invoices
Invoices are your billing tool in Bolster.
You can create invoices as:

Itemized invoices
-
Percentage-based invoices
Use itemized when you want line-by-line clarity.
Use percentage-based when you bill by progress.
Profile (merchant profile)
Profile is where you manage the identity and banking details behind payments.
You can:

View and add external bank accounts

Set a default external bank account

View and update business details
-
View owners
-
Edit owners
-
Add additional owners
Required actions
If your merchant isn’t fully verified, Profile will show required actions and what you need to submit.
