Bolster helps you win jobs with professional digital quotes that aren't just estimates - but presentations that enhance customer experience.

Bolster automatically generates a digital quote presentation from your estimate, so you can present right in-home, or send it by email and SMS.

You can also upsell with options, upgrades, and selections, so customers can make choices without extra back-and-forth.

Where to customize your presentation

Most presentation customization happens from the presentation tab.

• Open the project estimate

• Go to the Preview tab

• Hold your mouse pointer over any item, and a sidebar will show up on the right hand side, giving you options to customize the appearance of any item.

You can start editing most of your presentation from here, but for additional settings:

• From the bottom menu bar, open 'Theme Settings'

• Toggle on/off what you want included (colors, cover letter, badges, attachments, and more)

You can also set some branding details at the company level (logo, contact info).

Add your logo to your proposal

Your logo makes the proposal feel consistent with your brand.

It also helps your client remember who sent the estimate when they revisit it later.

Tutorial steps

Option 1: Edit your logo in the proposal directly (you can use different logos for each proposal)

• Open the estimate/project

• Go to the 'Proposal' tab

• Hover over the top left of the proposal, where the logo or text will be

• Click the image icon to add an image from your Bolster drive or from your computer.

Option 1: Set your logo once for your whole company

• Open the estimate/project

• Go to the 'Proposal' tab

• From the bottom menu bar, click on 'Theme settings'

• Click the folder icon on the logo image to add an image from your Bolster drive or from your computer.

Add a hero and/or background image

A background image (and a hero-style image, if you use one) changes the feel of the proposal fast.

Bolster supports adding a background image and company logo to improve visual appeal and brand consistency.

Tutorial steps

• Open the estimate

• Go to Preview

• Hover over the

• Additionally, you can hover over the grey background near the top to add an image to the background.

You can also edit the background or hero image from the 'Theme settings', with the same steps as above.

What should your background image be?

• A clean project photo

• A subtle brand texture

• A light image that keeps text readable

Add badges and credentials

Badges and credentials help your client trust you faster.

Use them to highlight proof, not fluff.

Good badge examples you can add

• Licensed & insured

• Warranty included

• Financing available

• Certified installer

• Local references available

• Open the estimate

• Go to Preview

• On the right under your name, you can add a credential name and ID
• Under the hero image, you can add badges from your Bolster drive or computer

Ask yourself:

• Which 2–4 badges reduce risk for this specific client?

Add images to items in the estimate for visual appeal

Item-level photos help your client understand what they’re buying.

They also make options, upgrades, and selections easier to choose.

Tutorial steps (item photos)

• Open the estimate 

• Find the item you want to improve

• Click inside the empty white part in the 'Pics' column

• Then, click the '+' button to add an image from your Bolster drive or computer.

Examples to add:

• • A clear item photo (product shot or example finish)

Add a gallery to show off past work

A gallery helps your client picture the outcome.

If you already capture jobsite photos, pull the best “after” shots into your proposal.

Bolster can surface project photos in areas like “Photos”, “Gallery”, or “Attachments” (including via integrations like CompanyCam). (Bolster Built Academy)

Tutorial steps (basic gallery workflow)

• Collect 8–15 of your strongest photos for this job type

  • Similar scope

  • Similar finishes

  • Clean, well-lit

• Add them to the project (or keep them in your Bolster file storage/workflow)

• Open the estimate

• Add a new line item, and then select 'Image gallery' from the list

• Click the picture icons to start editing images

• Then, click the image on the right to add images from your Bolster drive or computer.

Toggle large or small pictures in the presentation

Image size affects how fast a client can scan the proposal.

• Use large images when design and finishes drive the decision

• Use small images when the scope is long and you need speed

• Horizontal works well for “good / better / best”

• Vertical works well for long lists or detailed finish packages
