How to Add a Labour Minimum or Base Cost
Set a base or minimum labour cost for a line item so it holds even if the estimate doesn't meet a certain threshold.
Overview
This is useful if you want to set a base or minimum cost for an item's labour, so the estimate still reflects that cost even if the calculated labour does not meet a certain threshold.
Before You Begin
- Identify the line item you want to apply a labour minimum or base cost to.
1. In your Estimate, click the cube icon on the line item.
2. Click into Unit Pricing.
3. Click into Labour Options.
4. In Labour Options, choose whether to set a Base Labour Cost or an Estimate at Minimum Labour Cost, along with the corresponding description field for whichever you choose.
5. Click into the selected field and enter the desired value.
Why This Matters
-
Ensures a line item's labour cost never falls below a set base or minimum, even if the estimate does not meet a certain threshold.
Summary
You can set a labour minimum or base cost for a line item by opening its cube icon, going to Unit Pricing, then Labour Options, and entering a value for either the Base Labour Cost or the Estimate at Minimum Labour Cost
